Our School  »  Working With Other Schools

To help support our own school development, the staff of Calverley Parkside proactiely seek to work with colleagues across Leeds and North Yorkshire.

We are an active member of the Pudsey Family of Schools. Joint training and development takes place on an annual basis, based on updated priorities.

We have more tightly focused links with local schools so that colleagues can collaborate on shared priorities. They include;

2013-15 EYFS development: working with Farsley West Royd and Park Spring
2013-14 Moderation of teacher assessment: working with Pudsey Tyersal and Park Spring
2014-15 Feedback and marking: working with Pudsey Tyersal and Park Spring
2015-present. Working with Calverley CofE, Pudsey Greenside, Pudsey Tyersal and Park Spring. Focus has included moderation of assessments, improving reading and raising standards in maths.

We are a well established partner school in the
Red Kite Teacher Training Partnership led by Harrogate Grammar School. Our trainee teachers work in many schools right across North Yorkshire, Leeds and Bradford. Since September 2013 we have successfully trained two teachers every year who have all secured employment.

The successful transfer of our Year 6 pupils to secondary school is very important to us. We have very strong links with the two nearest secondary schools, Priesthorpe and Benton Park. We also link with many other secondary schools in the area.

In 2017 we are embarking on a new collaboration project as part of the
Noctua Teaching Alliance. This is a group of primary schools across Leeds with the clear capacity to support partner schools with 'in-house' advisors who can develop all aspects of leadership and managment to secure more rapid improvements for pupils.
