Practise Netball Tournament 06/11/18
Yesterday, my friends (William, Harry Y, Reuben and Harvey) and I went to a Netball tournament. When we arrived we were the only boys there, Miss Griffiths didn’t realise it was an ONLY girl’s event. At first, it was really difficult to understand where we were allowed to go. We started the event and lost the first game against Calverley C of E. After that, we played 5 more matched and won every game, I played Goal Shoot (GS) and scored 14 goals. The nets were a bit wobbly so we had to throw the ball gently. I really enjoyed it!

Yesterday, Year 5 and 6 went to Priesthorpe to face two teams, Bolton Royd and Farsley Farfield Primary Schools. Parkside brought two teams to the event. It was really fun, my favourite part was when we played against the other Parkside team which were my friends. We all came back with a smile on our faces. Well done to both teams. Thank you also to Mr Corbin for organising the event.

On Saturday 29th October 2019, we took part in our first cross country run at Middleton Park, a few weeks later we then completed our next race at Cardinal Heenan High School. We have three more races left. We all participated in these races.
At the start, you sprint off but sometimes fall over, luckily i haven't yet. Next, you sprint up the hills skidding around the corners. Finally, you use the last ounces of your stregth to sprint over the finish line. I am really looking forward to the next race at Prince Henry's.
Well done to all people involved.

The footballers from years 5 and 6 took part in an excellent evening of football at Ireland Wood School, Horsforth in the Leeds schools cup.
Parkside did the school proud with an impressive semi final win over Ireland Wood to qualify for the final. Goals from Ashton Corbin (2) and Alrexander Greenwood (1) sealed the match.
The final, played against a very strong Holy Trinity team proved one match too many for the Parkside footballers with a 5-0 defeat. However the scoreline did not reflect the effort that parkside put in.
The team did the school proud to work hard all season and reach the finals! Their achievements have given the year 6's a good send off in their move to secondary school in September.
We wish them all the best in their new school!!
TEAM: Alexander Greenwood, Thomas Price, George Higham, James Cadman, Malachy Barraclough, Jake Thornhill, Ashton Corbin, Finley Wood, Kyan Taylor.
Another huge congratulations to Rowan class for all their achievements on our skipping journey this year. On Wednesday 12th July the class travelled to Leeds Beckett University to take part in the City of Leeds skipping finals after winning the Leeds West heat. The children were up against 7 schools from around the city who had also won their local heats. It was tough competition on the day and Parkside children tried their absolute best, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to win.
There were many stand out achievements on the day but a special congratulations goes to those children who won awards in their events.

On Friday 31st March, 7 year 6 students travelled to West Leeds ARLFC for the Leeds West schools tag rugby tournament. The team started off excellent by comfortably winning against Armley Primary 5 trys to 1. The next game against Bramley St Peters was close and could have gone either way. Parkside were unlucky to concede a try in the final minutes of the game to finish 3-2 to St Peters. The final game was impressive against a strong Raynville A team, however Parkside were unlucky to have 2 trys disallowed. The game finished 4-2 to Raynville A.
