Welcome to Calverley Parkside Primary School. We are a one-form entry school situated at the heart of the community in Calverley, in a building dating back to Victorian times. All about Parkside

Calverley Parkside is a school at the heart of the Calverley Community - with an attached Nursery class. The school is part of the Owlcotes MAT. Boys and girls between the ages of 3 and 11 are accepted. Admissions to Reception are managed by Leeds City Council Admissions. Most admissions are based simply on how far from school the family lives. Children who have siblings already in school, have a 'special need' or have been in the care of the local authority will have priority. 

The school is situated in the centre of Calverley, an area on the outskirts of Leeds and close to the border with Bradford. Calverley still retains much of the character of the original village and has a very active community feel. Most of the children attending the school live locally in LS28.

The 52 place teacher-led Nursery admits two groups of 26 children, aged 3 or 4 years, currently offering each child 2.5 days a week. We are increasingly more flexible with our places, and offer 15 or 30 hours places. They are in the expert charge of a fully–qualified nursery teacher and an assistant. They learn, through a carefully planned programme of structured play, the early skills of literacy, numeracy and social interaction which stands them in good stead for their future education. All classes in the school normally have a maximum of 30 pupils and are organised into single age classes. Classes are organised into EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage - Nursery and Reception), KS1 (Key Stage 1 - Year 1 and Year 2) and KS2 (Key Stage 2 - Year 3, 4, 5 and 6).

Calverley Parkside operates within the Pudsey Family of Schools in addition to our MAT schools, and looks to work and learn with other schools and colleagues whenever possible. This is most commonly but not always done through sports events.
